joonbean began the way some of the best ideas do with sunshine, friends, and a little red wine.

We’re Fischer and Maya long-time beach people and outdoor seekers. For years, we lugged the same bulky, awkward, slightly rusty beach chairs down sandy paths… and if you’ve made it here, we’re guessing you’ve done the same.

At some point, it became clear: there had to be a more beautiful, practical, comfortable way to relax outside.

What started as a casual conversation turned into a year-long “what if?” testing fabrics, sketching ideas, and deep diving the market, then one night, over dinner and a shared “should we actually do this?” moment, we decided: yes. We’re doing it.

We wanted something thoughtfully made not disposable, not cheap, not an eyesore. Something lightweight, durable, water resistant, and actually nice enough to make you excited to bring it along. So we partnered with a small family-run manufacturer in Portugal and designed every detail with care.

That’s how joonbean came to life the beach pillow we always wanted: portable, comfy, sustainable, and made for sun-chasing.
Because if you’re going to sit and soak up the good parts of life, you deserve to be comfortable while you do it.
